Annual Scholarship Award

The Houston Missouri City Domino Club (HMCDC) will award three (2) scholarships valued at $1000.00 each. These scholarships recognize outstanding students seeking an Associate or Bachelors degree.

Applicant eligibility:

• United States Citizen, Permanent Resident or Student Visa Holder 
• Pursuing an Associate or Bachelors degree
• Cumulative high school GPA of 2.50 or above on a scale of 4.0
• Demonstrated leadership, community service, and good character
• Demonstrated financial need
• Commitment to volunteer at the HMCDC Annual Banquet

Procedures: The application is available online and must be completed in full and emailed to houmocity@gmail.com by the deadline of 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 31 2021

A committee will be appointed to oversee the selection process and evaluate completed applications on their merit.

Criteria: Selection will be based on demonstration of HMCDC community engagement and/or extracurricular activities on campus, two (2) letters of recommendation, proof of current enrollment, most recent transcript, and demonstration of financial need.

Disbursement: Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the awardee at the HMCDC Annual Banquet on the first Saturday in October. 

If the successful applicant cannot attend, a family member may collect payment on the student’s behalf.

Expectations: All candidates will write an essay (between 250 and 350 words) explaining their future goals and how the scholarship will help them to accomplish their objective(s).

The successful candidate must provide a J.PEG color photograph for the archives of the HMCDC.
